The Pretoria Yeshiva

The Rabbinical College of Pretoria known as Machon L'Hora'a, was established in 2001, under the guidance of Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Levy Wineberg, and the inspiration of late Chief Rabbi Cyril Harris(of blessed memory).

Rabbi Wineberg is an internationally renowned Torah scholar and he has grown the Machon into a world  recognised educational institution. After successfully completing the programme, students receive smicha or rabbinical ordination from both Rabbi Wineberg and from Rabbi Yakov Warhaftig of Machon Ariel in Jerusalem. To date 68 Rabbi's  have been ordained at the Yeshiva.

The yeshiva is currently in its 5th year, and its impact on the Pretoria Jewish community has been substantial and overwhelming.

The interaction between the bocherim and congregants, both frum & traditional occurs daily, with bocherim available for one-on-one shiurim with members of the community every evening.

The yeshiva has brought a new dimension to our community, making Pretoria a city of Torah learning and growth.
